Mattia Selan wins mens 42km and 21km

This year, although we had competitors from 7 nations, Italy was by far the most successful. Mattia Selan (Skating Comina Pordenone) managed to win both 42km, where he beat Marco Nuvolara (Polisportiva Casier) and Tommaso Bonvicino (Pattinatori San Mauro) in final sprint to the line, after they managed to escape from last year's winner Heinz Zimmerman (Austria) to complete full Italian podium. 21km men race was also decided by two sprint to the line where Mattia Selan (Skating Comina Pordenone) beat Christos Sarantis (Patras Rollers Club) from Greece, while the pack finish for 3rd place was won by Patrizio Giulioni (Skating club Jesi).

We have seen exciting men's races with many attacks from the beginning, breakaways and regroupings, but we also seen quite some tactical preparation for the sprint finish after breakaway was established. It was great sunny day in Ljubljana and we will publish detailed results soon.
